12/72 Playboy Magazine With Pinball Article
Here's the December 1972 issue of Playboy Magazine which includes a seven-page article about pinball. Titled simply "Pinball," the highlight of the article is a color photo of three pinball machines that were in production at the time the magazine was published: Williams' SUPER STAR, Bally's FIREBALL, and Gottlieb's KING KOOL. There are full-length color photographs of each machine, along with color inset photos of the playfield features. There's also a two-page sidebar titled "Great Moments in Pinball History," which includes a photo of Gottlieb's 1930 BAFFLE BALL and Allied Leisure Industries' 1973 SEA HUNT, among others. There are also illustrations of flipper and thumper bumper mechanisms. Most of the article is a memoir of the author's childhood recollections of bygone days. The magazine is complete and in very good condition, with the centerfold still attached to the staples. There's some minor wear and a couple of small rips on the cover.
